The story
General information
Built July 1957 and first registered in the United States in 1957. Two owners (current ownership since 1997), accident-free, valid TÜV, H-plate, German registration with a seasonal plate. Customs duties paid; partially restored. Imported from the USA in 1993, giving it a verifiable history; garaged and continuously maintained since 1993.
Model history
The Giulietta was realised at the initiative of US importer Max Hoffman. Its striking design with the characteristic V-shaped chrome grille made it highly desirable, and around 177,000 Giuliettas were built by 1964 — a successful combination of aesthetics and performance.
Exterior & interior
Red paint with black leather upholstery and red decorative stitching. Original radio fitted.
Engine & running gear
1.3-litre four-cylinder with 80 hp and a manual gearbox. A new fuel tank was fitted in 2022 (invoice available) and the rear drive shaft was replaced in 2023. New tyres (except the spare) and a new brake system. A 2022 expert report rates the car at condition 3+.
Mileage & documents
Approximately 16,570 miles read from the odometer. Documents include vehicle papers, TÜV and service reports, invoices and the valuation report. The underbody is unwelded, with surface rust.
Known defects
Various paint damage (rear, boot lid, lower right). The convertible top has been replaced once, with damage to the closing mechanism. Repaired paint chip on the bonnet. Small hole in the driver’s seat. Interior shows age-related use.
